This ‘Outstanding’ school in South West London is looking for an established and passionate Head of Music to be a valuable contributor to the schools Music Department and wider school operations. The school is in a hugely convenient location and offers both on-site parking and local transportation links within walking distance. The recently refurbished and extensive grounds and resources of the school allow for high quality, coherent and creative lesson planning and delivery throughout. As a well-equipped and respected school, there are many opportunities for the head of music to work in conjunction with other schools and local organisations to set up large scale choirs, gigs and other events promoting musical talent. The school provide a superb support network and is under the leadership of a strong head teacher and middle management team. The school prides itself on the engaging and exciting way in which it interprets and puts forth the curriculum.

The ideal candidate will have good experience as a music teacher and ideally be familiar with overseeing a department or have completed a pastoral role within the school. The Head of Music will be expected to help devise and deliver the appropriate material and should be able to demonstrate imaginative and innovative lesson planning. As the Head of Music it will be expected that you take an interest in the subject outside the confines of the academic environment and have pro-active engagement with music events, classes and workshops. The Head of Music should also be able to compile their material in such a way that it is pushing the boundaries of the ‘gifted and talented’ pupils but also comprehensible for those with SEN.

The role offers CPD for an outstanding and loyal candidate and is an exciting prospect for any experienced teacher.
