Construction Project Manager - Job Description
My clients are looking for a reliable Construction Manager to plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. This is an 18-month contract and you will be required to effectively project manage the conversion of a well know building in Cheltenham in to residential properties. You will also be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the projects. In return for dedication to the project my client offers a fantastic and competitive package of up to £65,000.
Duties to Include:
-Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion
-Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
-Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
Responsibilities to include:

-Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
-Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
-Meet contractual conditions of performance
-Review the work progress on daily basis
-Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
-Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
-Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences
-Analyse, manage and mitigate risks. Liaise with Principle Designer and comply with CDM
-Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
-Proven working experience in construction management, and working on residential properties.
-Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
-Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations -and quality standards
-Understanding of all facets of the construction process
-High regard for Health and Safety and CDM compliance.
-Familiarity with construction management software packages
-Ability to plan and see the "big picture"
-Competent in conflict and crisis management
-Leadership and human resources management skills
-Excellent time and project management skills
-BS degree in construction management, engineering or related field

-A proven track record working in the industry
-Extensive knowledge and great references
-Ability to meet deadlines
-Ability to bring a project in under or on budget
-You must be able to motivate a team and get stuck in when needed
-A keen negotiator and problem solver.
This is a rare opportunity for a project manager who is looking for a new challenge, this role is exciting and offers a fantastic package for the right person. You must have experience in Project Management and you must have experience in working with residential property. Local knowledge is a benefit but it isn’t essential, this is also an 18-month contract but with the possibilities of further ongoing projects.
