An outstanding school near Redhill in Surrey are looking for a Humanities Teacher to teach KS3 RE and History on a Long Term, Part Time contract, starting in April 2017.

The School are proud of the relationships between staff and students, which are exceptionally strong and currently serve approximately 1,700 boys and girls of all abilities, age 11-18. This includes over 300 studying academic subjects in the sixth form.

The community is vibrant, focused on teaching, learning and caring for students. The community of staff is very strong, supportive and welcoming. Students like the school and like to learn - they are almost always keen and co-operative and value staff and the school. The school has something for everyone and huge opportunities for adults, as well as students, to learn and grow.

The post is being offered on a Part Time, Long Term contract to start in the Easter term, with the ideal candidate staying on into the Summer term.

The current time table is:
Week A - Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
Week B - Monday, Wednesday and Thursday

You will be expected to take an active role in the planning, marking and day to day teaching of the classes, with support from existing staff, curriculums, resources and lesson plans.

The pay rates/salary is on the main pay scale for the area and will be based on each individuals experiences, skills and qualifications.

Able to start April 2017

• Qualified Teaching Status
• Knowledge of the UK curriculum covering Humanities in particular RE and History
• The ability to create an outstanding learning and teaching environment for students, including disabled students and students from underrepresented groups
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum and appropriate interventions for students to achieve success
• Strong ICT Skills
• Experience working within the Secondary School sector is desired
• Ability to work as a part of a team, with excellent time management
