Accounts Assistant required

Full or part time - Minimum 30hours weekly

Accounting by Design is a small, friendly firm of accountants based in Cirencester with a range of SME clients. We are looking for a motivated, experienced Accounts Assistant/ Bookkeeper for immediate start.

The role involves undertaking accounts preparation and bookkeeping for a variety of clients to include:

  • maintaining sales and purchase ledgers
  • maintaining and reconciling nominal ledgers including posting journals
  • completing bank reconciliations
  • completing nominal account reconciliations
  • raising sales invoices and some credit control
  • regular client contact with some work undertaken at clients’ offices
  • preparation of VAT returns
  • payroll

Experience with Office, particularly Excel, and Sage accounts or similar accounting software is essential and experience with various accounting software packages would be preferred.

Experience with preparing profit & loss accounts and balance sheet reconciliations would be advantageous, as would a professional accounting or bookkeeping qualification.

The position would suit an outgoing, organised and pro-active accounts all-rounder who is happy to work to and manage their own deadlines. Full driving licence required due to travel to client offices.

We would be happy to consider full or part time and can offer some flexibility with working hours. Study package can be made available.

Salary circa £19,000 - £23,000 dependant on experience.
