We have a unique opportunity with a client to join their Purchasing and Procurement team, the Procurement Assistant will be responsible for maintaining good supplier relationships and achieving advantageous pricing structures.

The Procurement Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating procurement for projects

  • Reviewing contracts and identifying possible improvements

  • Building strong relationships with suppliers

  • Assist in the delivery of procurement improvements and cost reduction.

  • Ensure best value is achieved for the business, meeting business and departmental targets/cost improvement.

  • Issue of material and subcontract enquiries as appropriate.

  • Provide support for procurement tenders.

  • Ensure correct process is followed in adding new suppliers to approved database.

  • Raise and commit material and subcontract orders as required.

  • Support renewal of new agreements with key suppliers.

You must have:

Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, a proven ability in developing effective working relationships through strong interpersonal skills and experience in a procurement support role. Strong proven problem solving skills along with the ability to demonstrable record in delivering savings against budgets and a high level of communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to compile and present data.
