This is an opportunity to make a real difference, with one of the leading social housing providers in the UK. As income Officer you will manage the end to end process of Financial management, this will involve:

To keep debt levels within agreed targets through the proper and effective management of rent/ service charge and sub accounts:
To contact customers by telephone, email, letter and the customer portal in relation to their debt

To action debt cases in accordance with the association's policies and procedures, ensuring that clear and comprehensive notes are always recorded.
To make decisions to ensure that cases are escalated through the stages of the process at the appropriate time, including cases requiring court action or with the necessary authority applications for eviction.
To be responsible for the promotion of the most appropriate payment method for a customer and updating the system records accordingly.
To negotiate with customers by reaching an agreement to clear debts, always ensuring that maximum affordable amount is agreed.
To ensure that all agreements and actions are accurately recorded
To actively encourage customers to take responsibility for their Housing benefit or Universal Credit claim, giving support to those whom are considered to be vulnerable.
About You - You will have / Ability to
Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively with others using a range of techniques, adapting style to enhance impact and suit the needs of the recipient.

Able to work effectively in partnership with manager, colleagues, stakeholders.
Able to work with minimal supervision, taking responsibility and action in complex or unfamiliar situations to ensure objectives are achieved.
Able to work flexibly including work outside normal working hours and to attend evening and/or weekend meetings.
Ability to interpret financial information and manage contracts.
Be able to identify safeguarding issues and use appropriate reporting mechanisms.

Working in a busy team you will be work in newly refurbished bright, modern open plan offices that offer free parking and excellent accessibility. You will work Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.
