A very exciting opportunity for either an experienced Buyer or a highly ambitious graduate to join a market leading company in their Procurement team. Managing the end to end buying process, you will be; negotiating, assessing and working with suppliers to realise commercially viable solutions and practices to maximise profits within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate Procurement from the UK and Europe
  • Attending daily procurement update meetings to communicate what deliveries are due
  • Assessment and sourcing of high quality products and supplies
  • Management of supply chain to minimise exposure to risk
  • Supplier conformance through managing and monitoring the supply of materials against requirements and quality standards
  • Understanding the impact on operations and minimising re-work at point of receipt
  • Monitor invoicing procedures, highlighting variances and discrepancies in conjunction with the Accounts Team
  • Negotiation of material costs, payments terms and carriage, optimising cost and quality
  • Record and update relevant documents, systems and registers with accurate product information and data
  • Ensuring Primary and Secondary suppliers in place for all lines
  • Good understanding of the marketplace, in particular competitor performance
  • Regular monitoring of top and bottom performing lines and taking action to maximise benefit respectively
  • Negotiate fixed price periods with suppliers
  • Identify and deliver cost savings
  • Secure best rates for each commodity and development
  • Accurately report cost changes in line with budget and timescales
  • Deliver buying processes within agreed timescales and targets as determined by the business
  • Monitor material quality and performance of suppliers against agreed standards, providing effective and timely feedback
  • Maintain all data and information on appropriate systems and documentation, accurately and within agreed timescales

The successful candidate will need to have:

  • Experience of managing and negotiating with multiple suppliers
  • Excellent Negotiation / communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Abillity to work as part of a team
  • Ambitious attitude
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Working hours are 8:30 - 5:30, Monday to Friday
