Options Higford, a specialist children’s autism service, URGENTLY require Night Residential Support Workers to join our team.

Where are we: Set in beautiful rural countryside, South Telford on B4176, 10 miles from Telford Town Centre, 6 miles from Madeley, 12 miles from Wolverhampton.

Salary Scale: £16,271 - £19,530

  • Starting salary £16,271
  • Post Probation £16,795
  • Qualified £17,850

Providing care to children and young people with autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties, the role of Night Care Assistant focuses on developing independent life skills through individually designed programmes.

Following a thorough 2 week induction and training programme, your duties would include:

  • Promoting life skills and independence in the home, developing domestic and personal skills
  • Preparing for and encouraging morning routines
  • Managing complex and challenging behaviour
  • Documenting all children’s activities, reporting and recording key aspects of their care

Skills Required:

  • Be willing to train to Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children or Young people) or equivalent - funded by Options
  • Keen to work with children with complex and challenging behaviour
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Have the flexibility and willingness to work night shifts, including weekends 42 hrs pw (21.30pm - 09.30am - 4on, 4 off)
