We are looking for a dynamic and committed Woodwork Facilitator to support and help a young man with a brain injury and a love of learning practical skills and doing woodwork to create and develop his skill set alongside supporting him to make products to sell on his garden stall.
Based in Burton in Kendal (near to Kendal and Lancaster) in a welcoming domestic setting with a wide range of facilities on-site for learning and occupational therapies.
You will deliver Woodwork sessions that are adapted and accessible to his needs and ensure that he can take part and enjoy those sessions.
A qualification in Joinery or equivalent experience is desirable and it is essential the applicants are confident and skilled at engaging individuals with learning difficulties/acquired brain injury in tasks. You must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
You will have responsibility for organising a schedule of work alongside and will have the facilities/equipment at home to support activities e.g. to prepare templates etc.
We seek a commitment of 3 hours per week on Thursday mornings between 10.00hrs - 13.00hrs and/or we have some flexibility whereby it could potentially be an evening in the week from 18.00hrs - 21.00hrs.
