My client is looking to recruit a SharePoint Developer to work across our portfolio of projects. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining new and existing Head office web based applications typically used by staff.
The successful candidate will have strong SharePoint, MOSS, C#, ASP.NET, and SQL skills along with good software engineering and development experience to apply to business critical applications. Depending on the project, your role will include some if not all of the following - requirements gathering, effort estimation, building proof of concepts, coding, unit testing, release management and stakeholder engagement. The role may involve working with business users to help further define their requirements. It is important that they have worked in a high-energy team, are adaptable to business needs and are comfortable working in a demanding delivery environment ensuring development remains within budget and delivered on time and quality.
Core Competences Required:
Educated to degree level preferably in IT relevant area or equivalent experience. Strong commercial experience using SharePoint 2010 onwards, ASP.NET and C# (4 years minimum). Developing in the .NET environment - Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 onwards. Knowledge of SharePoint Lists, Web Parts, Site Templates. Knowledge of SiteCore and PowerShell. Knowledge and experience of SQL Server 2008. Knowledge and experience of WCF and WPF. Other web development skills such as HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, AJAX and JQuery. General understanding of networks, MS Active Directory and application installation procedures. Knowledge and experience of Agile and Waterfall based Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC). Knowledge and experience of SharePoint administration, configuration and solution feature packaging. Using Software Configuration Management tools such as Subversion, GIT, Jenkins, Cruise Control, MS-Build and TFS. Strong in depth knowledge of design concepts, patterns, best practices and principles of Object Oriented Design (eg SOLID, GRASP). Experience of developing projects using the .NET environment and Microsoft SDK and of building high availability, scalable and secure web provisioned applications. Proven history in developing complex systems using the entire Microsoft .NET platform.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Knowledge and experience of Agile Software Development. Developing applications using ASP.NET MVC- 2.0 onwards. Knowledge and experience of LINQ, Entity Framework, and Unity. Knowledge of SQL Server SSRS and SSIS. Knowledge of Excel VBA. Knowledge of Markit EDM or Qlikview. Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD), NUnit, Unit Testing, Moq and IoC. Experience of risk and Matlab would be highly desirable.
