The Role: Marketing Assistant

Our client is a thriving, fun-loving company who stands out from their other competitors. With our help they are searching for a passionate, enthusiastic Marketing Assistant, to join the team on a part-time basis.

Retail point-of-sale sign production:

  • From files, or other information provided, add product-specific information to produce individual signs using existing/agreed templates.
  • Create new designs for non-product signage, in keeping with existing templates and design direction.
  • Contribute to annual design evolution for major centre changeovers
  • Oversee physical sign production and display - e.g. ensuring quality, correct materials/colours, and types being used appropriately.
  • Ad-hoc production of incidental signage and bespoke items to assist with merchandising activity.

Social Media:

  • Responding to post comments, encouraging and participating in conversations with customers.
  • Answering direct messages.
  • Taking post photos of incoming stock/new displays.
  • Video creation/editing/post production.
  • Manning potential live-chat facility in real-time, responding to any offline messages at the start of each day or as they arrive.


  • Updating website content - e.g. repurpose new content produced for social media by editing existing or creating new web site pages.
  • Updating photo galleries on a more regular basis.
  • Keeping special offers up-to-date (maybe using offer signs as inspiration?)
  • Manning potential live-chat facility in real-time, responding to any offline messages at the start of each day or as they arrive.


  • Email newsletter creation, adapting and repurposing weekly social media posts, send review notice and send on approval.
  • Updating, laying out existing customer information materials, such as care guides.
  • Creation of new marketing, promotion and informational pieces.

Skills Required:


  • High level of written English skill, including spelling, grammar.
  • Ability to comprehend a design brief and produce design deliverables to satisfy it.
  • High attention to detail required to help deliver quality and consistency across all work.
  • Ability to contribute to ideas and collaborate with others to find the best solutions possible, taking into account available resources and constraints.
  • High level of technical competency with standard office software and specialist graphic design packages such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign.
  • Photo editing and retouching skills, including colour correction/grading, isolation, compositing etc.
  • Typographic understanding (and restraint!)
  • Ability to quickly learn and become competent in other software applications.
  • Need to drive due to location


  • Photographic/video-graphic competency.
  • Video-editing skills, alongside post-production software competency, e.g. Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Apple iMovie, Apple Motion.
  • Copywriting skills - deliver to a copy brief, taking into account purpose, audience, house style etc.

The Package

  • £7.38 per hour - £8.50 per hour
  • Trial period initially, days/hours TBC following discussion.
  • Likely to be 2-3 days per week initially 9:00am - 5:00pm, potential to ultimately grow into a full-time position in due course.
