A great opportunity has risen for a Senior Buyer to join a leadership team who service across the globe, from one of their UK manufacturing sites based in Bridgend.

The purpose of your role will be to oversee and manage the timely sourcing of direct and indirect good and services, from both the UK and overseas, to implement a procurement strategy for future business development, develop continuous improvements to support cost savings, manage the inventory holding, and act as a mentor to two buyers within the team.

Your daily duties can include:
-Negotiating cost effective supply contracts
-Effectively manage suppliers to meet supplier delivery targets
-Maintain and grow relationships with preferred suppliers to make further savings
-Ensuring all production materials are delivered at the agreed time, and meet the company requirements in terms of specification and quality
-Monitor risks and opportunities in the market
-System maintenance and housekeeping; date recording, filing and retention, compliance
-Work closely with Production Planning and Sales to understand current demand and effectively forecast to suppliers
-Report monthly on KPIs, cost savings, supplier send, supplier performance
-Supervise and mentor buyers in their daily performance

As the ideal candidate, you will meet the following requirements:
-Have a minimum of 5 years of procurement experience within an SME, high volume, manufacturing environment
-Preferable CIPS qualified
-Skilled in supplier sourcing
-Have experience in contract management and contract negotiation
-Be highly competent in Microsoft Office
-Can evidence experience in mentoring staff
