The Goods-In Team Leader will lead a team of 15, and in conjunction with the Shift Management Team ensure that the operation is managed effectively and efficiently in order to sustain customer satisfaction whilst adhering to strict business KPI's and Metrics.

Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties of the Goods-In Team Leader are listed below, but it is the nature of the job that each activity will have its own range of demands which he/she will be expected to meet.

- Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and cascading high standards of work practices throughout the Goods-In team whilst ensuring a 'great place to work' philosophy.
- Continuously monitor the performance and activities of the Goods-In Team through the use of KPIs, with a primary focus on cost controls, productivity and quality.
- Reporting and evaluation of daily department productivity
- Evaluation/Motivation of staff including regular team briefs and 'one on one' individual performance reviews.
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of their workers
- Maintain the highest possible standard of quality in accordance with company standards including 6S
- Train and monitor staff in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safe work practices
- Responsible for the security of inventory at the distribution centre
- Look to develop and improve current practices, communicating and implementing change as directed
- Establish, maintain and promote the highest possible standards of customer service.
- Administration duties as required to ensure daily KPI performance is achieved.
- Answer staff/customer queries, identity issues and resolve

Person Specification

They are looking for someone who:

- Has previous 3 years Supervisory or Team Management experience in a distribution environment
- Possesses excellent interpersonal skills with a measured approach
- Is an excellent communicator, both written and verbal
- Is competent in IT (Email, Word, Excel)
- Has the ability to prioritise work, cope with competing deadlines and use initiative in a variety of situations
- Understands confidentiality, tact and discretion and sound judgement
- Has an organised and methodical approach to administrative duties.
- Is accurate and pays attention to detail
