FAIRWINDS is an adapted 20 bed unit which opened in 2004 . It is situated within a densely populated residential area , a diverse ethnic community and is approximately two miles from Rotherham city centre . It has good transport system , easy access to local services and the M1 / A1 motorway network . Furthermore there is a wide variety of local attractions which benefits Fairwinds enormously .

The unit is a two storey building with 10 beds on each floor and are specifically equipped to cater for young adults with complex mental health care needs and may be challenging in their behaviour . This differing level of abilities both mentally and physically requires a carefully planned skills mix of highly qualified and experienced staff team to ensure the fulfilment of the resident's social , mental , physical , psychological , emotional and psychical needs and well being .

As a registered nurse, you will be part of a team which is passionate about ensuring that our Service Users are provided with quality care. At the forefront of clinical care delivery, you will provide strong leadership to develop and improve the standard of daily living. You will have a person centred approach and be committed to enriching the lives of the individuals in your care.

Typically, your responsibilities will include:

- Assessing care needs
- Delivering hands-on nursing care
- Developing, implementing and evaluating care programmes
- Communicating with service users, relatives, visitors and other professionals
- Supervising team members to ensure that the shift runs smoothly and efficiently
- Participating in the training of care assistants and others
- Acting as a named nurse
- Administering, reviewing and monitoring medication
- Positive promoting the reputation of the home
- Complying with all legal and regulatory policies and procedures
- Promoting choice, independence, dignity and respect
- Adhering to the NMC Code and updating your professional knowledge
