Quantity Surveyor / Consultancy / Birmingham

A prestigious and dynamic multi-disciplinary construction consultancy are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their bustling Central Birmingham office. The Quantity Surveyor will have experience in working within a Consultancy environment or be looking to make the transition from Main Contractor to Consultancy. Located just a short distance from the Bull Ring Shopping Centre with close access to Birmingham Five Ways Station.

With a rapidly increasing work load, this diverse consultancy are in the market for an Quantity Surveyor to join a supportive and motivated team. You will be involved in all aspects of Quantity Surveying from pre-contract to final account within the Commercial, Education, Heritage and Ecclesiastical with £multimillion project values. This represents a rare opportunity to work within an established and well respected consultancy which gives the opportunity to and gain knowledge within a specifically unique sector.

You will be joining a successful and positive team, made up of experienced and MRICS quantity surveyors and junior Quantity Surveyors who are at the start of their career. This iconic consultancy have a strong reputation within the Ecclesiastical and Heritage sectors and are renowned as one of the best within this specific area.

The Role

The successful Quantity Surveyor will be working on projects across the UK, you will be based in Birmingham but you may on occasion be required to travel to site. You will be part of an established flourishing team in a successful company. You will work with a diverse range of clients on interesting and intricate projects.

  • Preparing cost plans and order of costs
  • Carrying out tender analysis and preparing tender reports;
  • Preparing interim valuations and financial reports;
  • Agreeing variations and final accounts
  • Attending site and design team meetings.

The Person

The ideal Quantity Surveyor will have:

  • RICS accredited degree in Quantity Surveying
  • 2 years post graduate experience working in a consultancy/contracting environment
  • Experience within Commercial, Residential, Retail and Private Sector work
  • Long term aspirations to be a central part of a developing company
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to work both autonomously and part of a team
