My client is an independent, international, engineering and project management consultancy with over 13 years of experience. They deliver services in the fields of aviation, buildings, energy, industry, infrastructure, maritime, mining, transport, urban and rural planning, and water, and are currently recruiting for a Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer for their office in Birmingham.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive experience of a range of projects from industrial and commercial clients. Project responsibility will be varied from inception of defining clients design brief’s to inspection/auditing, specification, design, and management of electrical equipment. The candidate should be able to demonstrate flexibility, dynamism and the ability to assist in the development of our growing team.

Main areas of work are:

  • Preparing design calculations, drawings, studies, specifications and reports.
  • Development of new concepts
  • Project Management
  • Coordinating and mentoring junior team members
  • Client Management

Key Requirements:

  • BEng (Hons) or MEng in Building Services / Electrical Engineering
  • Working towards or achieved Chartered Status (correct academic status or years served)
  • Extensive post education experience.
  • Experience in four or more of the following areas:
    • Industrial Buildings
    • Mission Critical Facilities
    • Food and Beverage
    • Ports or Maritime
    • Facilities Management Orgs
    • Design / Consultancy
    • Construction
  • Knowledge and practical experience of:
    • Electrical Calculation Software
      • Amtech
      • Hevacomp
      • Dialux
      • Relux
      • Lighting Reality (Desirable)
      • Calculux
      • Revit
      • NBS (Engineering Services)
    • Application of key M&E EU legislation
