Reporting to the Director of Estates, Facilities and Capital Development the Assistant Director of Estates & Facilities (Strategic Development) will act as the professional lead for the University’s Estate Strategy master planning and will lead on the strategy to develop and deliver a major new life sciences campus at the QMUL Whitechapel campus.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the planning and leadership of major capital projects in a comparable context. You will have strengths in leading the developmental stages of projects including elements such as detail design, procurement, strategic brief development and concept design. Experience of working in the higher education, science and/or healthcare sectors would advantageous.

He or she will contribute to the overall development of the estate and, therefore, the role is one of significant importance. With an impressive wide portfolio of capital projects to support Queen Mary’s mission of investment and expansion of the current facilities, this is a complex estates environment with a broad variety of projects to design.

The competitive benefits package includes 30 days’ leave + bank holidays + excellent pension scheme (employer contributions of 18%).
