2nd Line IT Support- min 6 month contract


2nd line IT support required on a 24 hour shift pattern (4 x 12 hour shifts on, 4 days on), for the NHS. You will be part of a team responsible for ‘tech ops’ functions, monitoring and maintaining live service of in-house developed Spine 2 systems.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Respond to systems and service events according to Key Operating Procedures
  • Perform service health checks
  • Incident management
  • Process deployment issue resolution requests
  • Operate accelerated change process

Key requirements:

  • Experience of 2nd line support
  • In depth knowledge of Ubuntu / Centos operating systems
  • Linux server experience
  • Sufficient experience of technical operations processes
  • Experience of responsibility for VMware server and SAN support
  • Basic knowledge of Splunk and Python scripting
  • Proven experience of processing and coordinating timely responses to requests of information, including channelling requests for help to appropriate functions for resolution, monitoring resolution activity and keeping clients informed of progress
