Vacancy:

We are currently looking to recruit an additional Design Consultant within our Interiors Division due to continued and exciting growth of over 30% year on year. The purpose of this key role within the team is to work in partnership with our Interiors Consultants to provide an inspirational design solution to our clients.

Our aim is to create inspirational working environments and provide the highest level of customer service to our clients.

Our client base includes household names such as University of Oxford, Heathrow Airport and Superdry.

We provide the following services:

• Initial meetings to evaluate our client’s furniture requirement

• Full CAD planning and 3D visual representations

• Complete fit out of offices including furniture, partitioning, carpets, ceiling, air conditioning etc.

• Product sourcing from in excess of 25 of the top furniture manufacturers in the UK

• Professional installation of furniture

• Project Management

Key responsibilities:

• To provide design support to all Interior Consultants to target and land interior projects

• Preparation of design workload document to be presented to Head of Sales monthly

• To work in partnership with the existing interior design team to spearhead the direction of design within Commercial Interiors

• To pull together all appropriate design plans and supporting documentation for projects

• To build rapport and nurture customer relationships

• To actively promote Commercial’s total office solutions promise by introducing senior sales staff from other Divisions to existing accounts and prospects

Person specification:

The successful candidate will be an independent thinker who thrives on group collaboration and in a fast-paced environment. They must be motivated, have a strong design sense, detailed-orientated, confident voicing their opinion within a team, and possess a positive attitude and excitement towards their work. They will need to be blessed with extraordinary creativity and a rationale thought process.

This opportunity will be best suited to an individual who is well organised, honest and driven.

Their skillset must include the ability to effectively space plan, create technical drawings using AutoCAD, visualisations with SketchUp and other 3D software along with freehand drawing abilities to convey initial concepts to clients.

Most importantly they will have experience of presenting and pitching to clients as you must be able to hit the ground running from day one and, of great importance, previous project experience in Workplace design and Agile working environments.

What we require:

• Confident client-facing skills with the ability to present and lead projects

• Excellent time management skills

• Excellent design and spatial planning skills

• Proficient in Autocad, Photoshop, InDesign and Sketchup software packages

• Conduction of site surveys and visits

• Excellent knowledge of design detailing and specifications

• Conceptual design skills to present to clients in a number of mediums / formats

• The understanding of design deliverables and schedules

• Ability to run projects from initial brief through to completion

• Presenting skills of design briefs and concepts to the clients

• Production of detailing drawing packages and FF&E schedules

• Liaising with clients, suppliers and contractors

• Excellent knowledge of fabrics, materials and finishes

• Knowledge of suppliers, manufacturers and craftsmen

What you will need to succeed:

• Industry experience ideally within workplace and agile working environments

• Hold an industry recognised Diploma or Degree in Interior Design

• Able to understand and formulate design decisions and present for discussion

• Able to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently

• Able to work as a team with other designers

• Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Understanding of Building Regulations and relevant Codes of Practice

• A full UK driving licence will be necessary for this position due to the location of our clients covering the whole of the U.K

Package:

Working hours:

37.5 hours per week to be worked between the hours of 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday. However, occasional overtime may be required to meet the demands of the business.
