Role Profile:

Positioned within the Rail/Metro Engineering team you will be working as part of a multi-skilled technical team delivering Ops Comms scope for UK Mainline Rail and Metro projects.
You will be responsible for the preparation of telecom system design packages, supporting the implementation of system designs and providing technical assistance to on-site engineers.

Typical Deliverables:

Responsible for installation survey and design of telecoms systems for implementation onto UK Mainline Rail and Metro infrastructure.
Responsible for the verification of designs against all contractual requirements.
Responsible for the production of material and equipment lists to support subsequent build phases.
Responsible for provided technical support to site based resource relating to installation activities.
Responsible for the production of Health and Safety File documentation.

Business Operations Skills – Experience:

Proven experience of producing Design packages for operational telecom services as part of an upgrade or renewal of a legacy telecom system.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly communicate within a project team.
Proven experience and knowledge of new and legacy telecom systems on Network Rail infrastructure as follows:
IP and Analogue CCTV
IP Networks
Public Address Systems
Passenger Help Points
Customer Information Systems
Station Management Systems

Business Operations Skills – Qualifications:

A working knowledge of the designers’ responsibilities under the CDM regulations.
• IRSE 'Assistant Telecoms Designer' licence (2.1.105) or 'Telecoms Designer' licence (2.1.115).
• Working knowledge of Network Rail, LUL and Railway Group standards.
