Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a British based manufacturer of confectionery. Their Birmingham based factory is purpose built and is one of the most modern in Europe. They are currently seeking an experienced and Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer for their Birmingham based production site.

Skills Required

The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will have a proven track record within a food environment although applicants from a manufacturing environment will be considered and have experience of preventative maintenance techniques, installations and projects on Conveyors, Mixers, Packaging and Sealing Machinery and Check Weighers.

Working within a team of approximately twelve colleagues, this is a hands on role working with machinery such as AASTED – (Moulding Lines), PWR Robotics, Ishida packaging machines as well as panning and dosing pumps, carton sealing machinery, conveyors and inkjet sprayers.

The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer should have experience / skills / background in:

- Planned Preventative techniques
- Setting up PPM System
- Carrying out daily PPM schedules to ensure KPI's are completed
- Conveyors
- Mixers
- Packaging Machinery
- Sealing Machinery
- Check Weighers
- Rotary Pan

- Electrical qualifications to 17th edition plus experience on PLC’s

Job Description

As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for the following:

- Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules on site
- Reactive maintenance
- Project work including installations of new equipment
- Working within self-organising teams supporting other departments.

All applicants must have a time served fully indentured apprenticeship (or equivalent) and have worked within an engineering environment.

Working Hours

Standard working hours are Monday-Thursday for a 12hr shift (6am-6pm) days and nights.

A flexible approach to working hours as shift patterns may change from time to time as nights and weekends may also be required. Overtime paid at T1/2 or T2 after standard 48 hrs are reached.
