Broster Buchanan Professional Services team is proud to have been appointed exclusively by Mazars LLP in Liverpool to conduct a talent search for a Tax Assistant Manager or Tax Manager to join their award winning tax team.

The Opportunity

Due to a high volume of new tax clients which have been referred by the award-winning Audit function, as well as a sharp increase in new advisory work through existing clients, Mazars Liverpool are looking to hire an Assistant Tax manager or Tax Manager.

Within this well-oiled tax machine, you will report directly into the Liverpool based tax Director, giving you a superb opportunity to learn directly from an experienced and well networked Tax professional. You will have the responsibility to manage a richly diverse portfolio of clients, and to lead a team seniors and tax trainees in delivering high quality work.

You will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients - mainly focusing on entrepreneurial private clients (OMB and SME) who rely upon Mazars for trusted advice in growing their businesses. You will have ultimate oversight in ensuring the delivery of good quality corporate tax work - ranging from nuts and bolts compliance work through to high level technical tax planning, advising on a range of topics such as exit strategies, international expansion, profit extraction and a variety of M&A activity and generally being a sound confidant to your clients.

To deliver quality work, you will guide a team consisting of experienced seniors, part qualified professionals and a number of knowledge hungry tax trainees. The team is well motivated and passionate, and are looking to the guidance of a seasoned Tax professional in order to help them continue on their own career development.

Alongside the management of these relationships and the delivery aspect of this role you will have (should you wish) the opportunity to work alongside the Director and Partner in business development and growing the volume of work for the NW tax function.

For this position, you will be an experienced Tax professional who is excited by learning and has a pro-active attitude

Ideally you will show evidence of working with entrepreneurial business and possess private client advisory experience and Ideally you will be either ACA and/or CTA qualified, however Mazars are open to non-qualified individuals with excellent tax technical skills.

As mentioned - you will be a team player; meaning you'll possess excellent communication skills (both oral and written) as well as excellent client handling skills. Mazars deal with typically mid-market business, and what they really want is someone who can communicate and break down complex Tax terminlogy to non-Tax professionals.

Naturally, you will be organised and with a pro-active approach. At this level you'll be willing and expected to exercise judgement and work without close supervision. You will be a true role model for the team - able to assist on difficult technical challenges, lead from the front and improve individuals weaknesses.
