We are looking for an organised and pro-active Bookkeeper. Must be part-qualified and willing to learn. Cochrane Design is a multi-award winning design practice specialising in exclusive residential properties. We handle all aspects of architecture, co-ordination, construction, interior design and dressing with projects ranging from full renovations to furnishing contracts. We are an energetic and busy design studio where everyone works very hard but also has a lot of fun.

The role is very diverse and requires a high level of organisation, communication, multi-tasking and common sense with attention to detail. The suitable candidate will be a self-starter and keen to get involved in every aspect of assisting a finance team.

The role will include:

Processing Office Payments

  • Liaise with design team to process necessary payments for projects

  • Matching, batching and coding invoices to the system (quick books)

  • Reviewing and posting petty cash

  • Handling credit cards and bank reconciliations

  • Processing BACS payments

  • Assisting with quarterly VAT returns

  • Performing month end tasks to deadlines

General Office Management - Assisting studio coordinator with ad-hoc tasks. This could include:

  • Arrange all business insurance

  • Manage company car contracts, insurance and maintenance

  • Manage all utility accounts

  • Maintain office stationary and business stationary

  • Deal with telephone enquiries

  • Manage generic company email inbox and website enquiries

  • Process all paperwork including mail, filing, etc

  • Troubleshoot IT problems

  • Ensure office is kept tidy

Human Resources- Assisting studio coordinator with:

  • recruitment

  • Managing interns, apprentices and work experience candidates

Financial and Project Management

  • Involved in weekly finance meetings with Director and bookkeeper

  • Fully updated on all accounts payable and receivable

Skills required:

  • Excellent Microsoft office skills is a must

  • Quickbooks experience is desirable

  • EstiPC experience is desirable

  • Perfect written and spoken English as you will be dealing with high end clients.
