Are you looking for a Procurement role where you can have fkexible working hours, either full-time or part-time?

A public sector organisation is currently recruiting a Procurement Consultant, to work for two of their clients (one in the Bath area and one in the Exeter area). The role is open to either part-time candidates interested in one of the locations or full-time candidates who are happy to travel between both. 

1. To take prime responsibility for carrying out a variety of procurement activities as agreed for allocated clients (as agreed with the client and the Regional Procurement Manager and the Operations Director) and that effective professional dialogue is maintained with the client in relation to the activities in progress including:
• Delivery of full procurement reports, on time, for client institutions including savings achieved, targets and highlighted work plans;
• Obtaining, compiling and keeping up to date various data to inform procurement activities for allocated clients;
• Analysing current spend, benchmarking and market testing alternative suppliers and where appropriate drafting reports which recommend changes to achieve cost savings;
• Review of clients’ current, written procurement procedures and regulations including recommendations as to any changes that should be made.
• Drafting of policy and procedure notes in relation to procurement and value for money; Preparing all paperwork for Tenders and Requests for Quotation, including realistic timetables that comply with regulations and ensure OJEU compliance.
• Project managing all procurement activities against timetable
• Keeping records of savings performance vs. reported targets;
• Creating monthly and termly progress reports;

Experience of managing the whole OJEU process (working knowledge of EU rules) is essential.
Experience in procurement within the public sector procurement experience is desirable.
Good project management skills will be advantageous.
Ability to advise on best practice to peers and senior staff (client side) will be important to demonstrate.
Demonstrating where & which categories & how have you worked to identify savings opportunities and implemented strategies to gain the savings will be desirable skills.
