This Stoke-based Company operate an industrial equipment repair and servicing business. This growing electronic repair company have been operating for 70 years. They focus on 4 areas of business; Electro-Mechanical, Servo & Spindle, Automation repair and Specialist Manufacturing services.

They are looking for an Electronic or Electrical Engineering graduate to fill this new vacancy of Graduate Drives and Controls Bench Engineer.

This is a 12 week graduate paid internship with a view to becoming a permanent position.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Diagnose and fault find to component level
- Repair and testing of various OEM’s products; for example: (Siemens, Fanuc , Indramat, Allen Bradley and Control Techniques)
- Reverse engineer
- Interpret drawings and connection details
- Site work including retrofitting
- Provide after care support to customers
- Plan with team members regarding work schedules, performance measures and resource requirements in order to ensure team targets will be achieved
- Agree with team members the allocation of tasks, rotating responsibilities as appropriate to achieve flexibility and the best use of the skills and capabilities of team members

Skills and experience:

Essential Qualifications and Competencies:
- A degree in an electrical or electronic engineering
- An understanding of electronic and power electronic theory
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams
- Ability to use basic test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Signal Generators etc.)
- An ability to learn a broad spectrum of techniques covering a large array of industrial equipment

Desirable Qualifications and Competencies:
- Through hole and surface mount soldering/de-soldering abilities
- Experience in the programming of PLCs and HMIs
- Reverse engineering of electronic circuits
- Driving licence

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Additional information: Full UK driving licence is desirable

Day Shift Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4.30pm

Salary: £20,000 - £30,000 (depending on shift pattern and experience)

Overtime Rate: £20.00 per hour dependant on salary band
