Rig Manager position to design, implement and test new SCADA system based in Manchester City Centre.
Your new company
One of the UKs industry leading infrastructure businesses are looking for a Rig Manager to join their Manchester team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to lead a SCADA based project to design, implement and test the new system.
At the end of one of the organisations largest projects, they have a short period of time during which the business must install and commission equipment on to the infrastructure.
This project is a critical role as a delay during this period would result in substantial financial and representational damage.
The organisation is currently open to a Fixed Term Contract (minimum of 12 months) or a permanent role.
Your new role
The role of the test manager is to ensure that the equipment the team design and deploy is rigorously tested off-site before commissioning. This role will work with the larger team to define the level of testing to be performed at each stage in the project life cycle and to ensure the testing provides the least risk route to installation, design and deploy the testing equipment, contribute to the team's commissioning plan, conduct tests and produce the associated documentation.
You will be responsible for:
Effectively work with key stakeholders, peers and colleagues from project inception through to delivery, support and maintenance.
Identify and advise on strategies for efficient test of technology solutions
Development of acceptance testings strategies and associated test documentation
Assisting in the design of the dedicated test environment
Running informal regression and integration tests (IFAT)
Running the formal FATs
Collating and publishing test results
Assisting the Field Engineers and Commissioning Coordinator with site based testing.
What you'll need to succeed
You must have excellent communication skills in order to work alongside a number of the businesses divisions, including key stakeholders and field engineers.
You must also be able to demonstrate experience in the above position.
