As a Government body working with the treasury our client deals with Government’s debt, cash and balance sheet management objectives. . Although organised into a number of functional teams, staff operate flexibly to deal with issues as they arise and the office operates with few management layers. All staff have access to training and development opportunities and are encouraged to take them
Our client operates at the centre of the financial markets, interacting with major financial institutions to balance the cash flows to and from Government on a daily basis and transacting in Government bonds (gilts) and Treasury bills to meet the Government's financing requirements. It is based in the City and its turnover in 2015-2016 was over £3 trillion.

? Lead daily Finance tasks incl. general ledger maintenance, turnover statistics, cash & bond reconciliations, and KPIs.
? Take responsibility for the accuracy of routine daily reporting to stakeholders.
? Investigate anomalies and potential errors and take responsibility for their resolution.
? Support production of bank-style annual accounts for one or more entities; includes team coordination, document management and liaison with printers.
? Support production of management accounts for one or more funds.
? Contribute ideas for development of financial reporting models to enhance efficiency and reliability of reporting.
? Contribute ideas for development of systems, controls, and other processes to reduce delivery times and reduce operational risk.
? Coordinate timely distribution of Finance deliverables.
? Maintain clear and comprehensive records of issues, actions, progress, and conclusions.
? Deal with stakeholder queries and deliver ad-hoc analysis in response to emerging issues.
? Maintain, adapt, and update procedure manuals.

• High level of numeracy demonstrated by qualifications or previous work
• Strong analytical capability & good attention to detail
• Friendly, positive, self-motivated personality
• Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

* Do you have a degree in a relevant subject
• Trainee accountant (fully qualified AAT or early stage ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
• Demonstration of strong numeracy in degree or A-levels
• Effective communication skills – oral and written
• Evidence of effective customer focus in previous roles
• Evidence of self-sufficiency and ability to manage own workload and time, and to meet deadlines
• Ability to take responsibility for work with limited supervision at times
• Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
• Must be adaptable to changing requirements
• Awareness of the financial markets
• Demonstrable skills and experience in managing large quantities of data
• Experience of organising information, with understanding of ensuring a strong audit trail
Good IT skillls is a must.
