As part of our 2017 recruitment plans, we are looking for a number of Trainee BDE’s to join our early careers in-take programme and become the future faces of QAA.

Sales is a vital part of any organisation. You will we be the first point of contact and the face of the QAA business. As part of our early careers programme, we are looking to find individuals who are excited about the prospect of selling our services over the phone and face to face with potential clients.

2017 is going to be an interesting year for Apprenticeships with the Government Levy in place. This will affect employers in all sectors whereby business with a paybill in excess of £3 million will be charged 0.5%, which is then set aside specifically for Apprenticeships.

What is the role?

As a Trainee New Business Development Executive and with our support, you will contact key decision makers within organisations and talk to them about our services, the benefits of taking on Apprentices or how our programmes can up skill/enhance their current workforce. To begin with you will generate new accounts using your training, then once on-board grow those accounts which is invaluable to increasing our client base.

Using your business development and customer relationship skills, your role is vital in helping Learners onto new and exciting career paths. Energising existing employees with new skills and helping business’ grow & develop the most important parts of their organisation… the people who make it happen!

How will we support you?

Whether you have experience or not, we have a dedicated five month training programme covering all areas of business development such as planning your calls, engaging with clients, investigation/questioning techniques, presenting, negotiating, closing your sales and how to manage relationships.

You will also be assigned a buddy who will mentor you as well as support and guidance from your Managers, all of whom have experience in building sales teams and making them successful.

Financial package and benefits

We are offering a base salary up to £20,000 per annum, up to £12,000 commission (uncapped), Private Pension as well as 25 days holiday, season ticket loans, 2 days paid Charity work each year for a charity of your choice (which we actively encourage), 3 days of additional training which does not need to be relevant to your role from our very own course selection, discounted gym membership and cycle to work scheme (for those who are already down the gym or for those that have put it on their new year’s resolution).

Must haves (we do need the following):

  • A desire to work in sales is vital - it’s a rewarding role, but it can be tough and isn’t for the faint hearted

  • Good communication skills - sounds obvious but as the focal point of the business, we need you to be able to communicate professionally

  • Take Responsibility - own your actions and deliver on your promises

  • Personality and rapport building - the expression 'people buy from people’ really is true

  • Driving licence + own car - would be beneficial
