Quality Engineer - Melksham We have an exciting opportunity a Quality Engineer for a world leading Systems supplier for the design, manufacture of Sub- systems to the rail industry for Platform Screen Door and Braking systems at their facility in Melksham Wiltshire. Role: Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will be focussed to ensure high levels of quality service are maintained to ensure customer contractual obligation is fulfilled on immediate part replenishment and complaint reporting. Responsibilities: The Quality Engineer will: - Ensuring that all complaints are logged accurately and acknowledged within agreed lead-time - Be responsible for the administration of the 1st phase of the company's complaints process, including logging, ascertaining required information, liaising with Stores, suppliers, internal and external customers reporting on: - Reaction time on complaint receipt acknowledgment - Reaction time on goods receipt acknowledgment - Reaction time information flow - Experience in performing root cause investigation and corrective action implementation on customer/ internal product quality issues - Create route cards on SAP for the quality engineer to proceed with investigation of customer complaints - Responsible for ordering replacement and repair parts/services on SAP upon agreement with customer quality engineer - Manage the complaint tracking sheet and provide data for customer meetings - Ability to use primary measuring devices unaided to support containment checks at KB and customer, if necessary - Access reported fault to determine complaint level and carry out fault confirmation actions accordingly Professional experience and/or qualifications: - SAP knowledge is essential (QM Module) - Experience of Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel, is essential - Previous experience of working in complaint handling environment - Highly organised and single minded focus on task - Attention to detail - Flexibility to work in a fluctuating demand environment Benefits - Salary - £40,000 to £49,000 - dependent upon experience.
