Fantastic opportunity for someone who is either at the beginning of their finance career, or perhaps you have a few years experience under your belt. You will be fully supported in your role, and their will be opportunities for training and growth as this company has credible plans.

Your role as Assistant Finance Officer will be to provide administrative and financial support to the finance team. In addition, you will be required to provide assistance to the finance officer in the preparation of monthly management accounts

The company has one Parent Company and 3 Trading Companies, therefore if you have experience in inter company accounting this will be beneficial.

Your responsibilities as the Assistant Finance Officer will include:

- Processing purchase invoices via the electronic automated system
- Ensuring the list of purchase invoices in the system is reviewed to ensure timely processing
- Investigate and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise
- Ensuring supplier details are kept up to date
- Assist in the preparation of weekly payment runs
- Collate and maintain the monthly recharges from each business department
- Raise sales invoices in line with company timelines
- Recording receipt of monies against each customer
- Generate electronic photography invoices and communicate to the network and import to the accounting system
- Generate electronic photography purchase invoices and import to the accounting system
- Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of bank accounts on a timely basis
- Reconciliation of credit cards ensuring that all statements are cleared on a monthly basis
- Maintain control and reconcile petty cash and process transactions on the accounting system both sterling and foreign currencies
- Update & maintain the fixed asset registers
- Calculate & post monthly depreciation and amortisation
- Assist in the performance of the debtors control process ensuring that all invoices are settled on time.

What skills / experience are we looking for in candidates as an Assistant Finance Officer?

- A willingness to undertake formal accredited finance training within the first 12 months of commencing the role
- Demonstrable experience of working as a finance assistant in a finance team or department
- Basic understanding of accounting processes and procedures
- Awareness of the provisions of the Data Protection Act
- Good communication & listening skills
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Committed to own continuing professional and personal development
- Ability to work under pressure to meet targets and deadlines
- Able to work in a busy office environment that often demands high levels of concentration
- Able to work effectively with minimal management guidance and supervision
- Able to respond effectively to changing priorities
- Willingness to accept responsibility for tasks as delegated by colleagues
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Willing to travel, on occasion, within the UK and International Network
- Good working knowledge of MS Office packages, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sage
- Work in an accurate, organised and structured way that others can follow
- Good team player
- Good sense of humour
- Full current UK driving licence is required
- AAT is desirable, but not essential.
