We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst, based within our Business Rates (NNDR) Shared Service Centre, in Clevedon, North Somerset

The NDR Shared Service Centre is responsible for the billing and collection of £480m on behalf of multiple clients, analysing data and forecasting monetary values is of vital importance.

As well as providing resilience for the existing team, you will largely be responsible for monitoring, controlling, reconciling and predicting monetary movements and establish the root cause analysis for variances. You will also collate data sets and statistics to feed into client reporting.

Key tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Using multiple systems, gather and process data to run/manage and forecast NDR collection rates on a daily/weekly monthly basis
- Look for discrepancies/errors and or shortfalls in collection performance raising them as potential issues and identifying ways of resolving
- Understand and work with a number of different finance and cashier departments both internal and externally to obtain data Gather and build NDR data needed for internal and external reporting and articulate into an agreed format for sharing and identify variances
- Ensure MI delivery to the business is accurate, timely and comprehensive
- Monitoring & understanding NDR volumes across numerous service lines, analysing to understand reasons behind any significant changes

Essential skills and attributes:

- Excellent IT skills and an ability to use Excel to at least an intermediate/advanced level
- Ability to learn new software packages such as SQL, BOXi
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with a good qualification in Maths and English
- Provide solutions to problems and can demonstrate a 'Can do attitude'
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with all stakeholders
- Ability to identify risks which will impact service delivery and plan accordingly
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Tactfulness, diplomacy and ability to maintain confidentiality

Take ownership of problems through to resolution Relevant Experience (desirable but not essential)

- Business Rates knowledge
- Academy and /or Northgate experience
- AAT interest or Accountancy experience
