Interim Planning Policy Manager

Are you an Interim Planning Policy manager? If you, I would like to hear from you as a South Eastern London Authority is currently looking to recruit for an interim planning manager to assist in the Planning Policy department for an initial 3-6 months based up a negotiable rate.

* Accountable to the Assistant Director (Planning) for the efficient and effective management of all functions and projects and the overall work of the Spatial Strategy in accordance with the relevant specifications / agreements and with all statutory requirements of whatever nature.
* Lead the development of the Council's planning policies to ensure that they contribute to meeting the visions and objectives of the Council's regeneration and community strategies while remaining consistent with the need to protect our environment and the interests of our community.
* Ensure that the Council's corporate objectives are met through the preparation of appropriate planning policies and planning policy frameworks.
* Lead the implementation and direction of the Local Development Scheme to ensure the successful delivery of the Local Development Framework and associated supplementary planning guidance.
* Extensive experience in development plans / policy preparation
* Understanding of Government policies, procedures and current planning matters
* Awareness of the London Spatial planning system and ability to take responsibility for major policy matters

The suitable candidate would need to be a qualified planner with current UKplanning policy experience at a managerial level. You would also be required to attend hearings, working towards tight deadlines and implement procedures to achieve required out comes.

Rates are negotiable based upon experience.
