Full Stack Web Developer - PHP / WordPress

A Full Stack Web Developer / Web Developer (PHP / WordPress) is needed to join a multi-award winning digital marketing agency. With fantastic career progression on offer, expect to work on an exciting variety of projects for leading clients.

Based in the suburbs of Manchester (just 15 minutes from the city centre by tram) this well established and friendly digital agency is renowned for combining digital business development, website and/or app development and digital marketing that delivers digital growth and success. They are now seeking a talented Full Stack Web Developer / Web Developer (PHP / WordPress) to join their small, dynamic team.

Working closely with the Director of Digital Strategy, the Full Stack Web Developer / Web Developer (PHP / WordPress) will be tasked with bringing the creative vision to life through their technical know-how. Whether you are delivering innovate new solutions; mentoring the junior developer; working across multiple platforms; overcoming technical challenges or keeping abreast of the latest trends in web development, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of inspiring technical projects.

To qualify. We are looking for a Full Stack Web Developer / Web Developer (PHP / WordPress) / Web Developer / Front End Developer / PHP Developer (PHP / WordPress) or similar with a CV that demonstrates:

  • You are a WordPress & WooCommerce expert;
  • You are an expert in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript;
  • You are an expert in PHP & MySQL;
  • Experience with WordPress theme development;
  • Experience with WordPress plugin troubleshooting;
  • The ability to test builds, bug fix and snag;
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Experience with Linux as a command-line interface;
  • Experience with code versioning;
  • Experience of using industry standard social APIs e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google Maps;
  • An understanding of server side deployment and website staging;
  • You are comfortable writing own developer plans;
  • The ability to forecast build schedules and hit delivery deadlines.

Any experience of / exposure to any of the following would be a bonus:

  • Writing custom WordPress plugins;
  • Writing standards compliant code to WCAG 2.0;
  • CSS scripting frameworks;
  • MVC JavaScript frameworks, e.g. Angular / React JS and new JavaScript standards, e.g. ES6 & ES2016;
  • An understanding of Google Analytics & tracking set up;
  • Ionic Development;
  • JavaScript task-runners, e.g. Gulp, Grunt, Bower, Node.js;
  • Knowledge of PHP to build REST API applications;
  • Ability to work on existing OpenCart & Magento sites. No builds required, able to maintain existing sites;
  • Experience writing technical specification.
