Maintenance/Manufacturing Engineer

Andover, Permanent

Up to £30,000 DOE + Excellent benefits and 28 days holiday


Our Andover based client are urgently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance/Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. The maintenance Engineer will support production and ensure facilities and operational equipment is maintained in accordance with safe working standards and any breakdowns are efficiently resolved.

The successful applicant will have knowledge of undertaking troubleshooting and planned preventive maintenance duties and will support production activities. There will be some element of flexibility required due to the shift patterns and overtime requirements of the FMCG industries.

Role Responsibilities:

•Proven experience in working within a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment.

•To carry out repairs on machinery in all areas of the site & liaise with production personnel to minimise downtime.

•Ability to demonstrate theoretical knowledge with practical application & Strong skills in mechanical /electrical fault finding and repair. PLC understanding is advantageous.

•Ability to make decisions under pressure & to ensure that planned preventative maintenance is carried out correctly in a timely manner.

•To ensure that all repair and maintenance documentation is maintained with full compliance with all regulatory guidelines and operating procedures

•Maintain high levels of tidiness, cleanliness and presentation throughout the building when conducting a task.

•Monitor staff behaviour to ensure that facilities are maintained in good condition and escalate any unacceptable behaviour as necessary.

•Actively champion a culture of food safety and pride in the workplace & be able to Identify and recommend improvements, replacements and repairs

•Ensure compliance to all aspects of the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and wellbeing procedures.

•Working knowledge of current safety regulations and legislation.

•Completing all relevant documentation connected to the relevant tasks conducted.

Person Specification:

•The successful applicant will have experience of working within a maintenance/Manufacturing Engineering role, ideally within the FMCG sector.

•The ability to communicate with individuals at all levels is essential as is maintaining an organised workload.

•A knowledge and understanding of relevant health and safety regulations is imperative and applicants will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•The ideal candidate will preferably have completed a recognised Mechanical/Electrical engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent), or be able to demonstrate a proven maintenance background in a manufacturing/production environment
