Our client is one of Europe’s leading mobile telecoms operators, enhancing the lives of migrant communities by providing high quality and low cost mobile products and services. They provide pay-as-you-go mobile SIM cards and related products and services customised to serve the international communities in seven European countries as well as Australia. In March 2011, they expanded their services by launching a financial division in the UK, a simple and secure MasterCard® prepaid card, offering highly competitive exchange rates for customers wishing to send money abroad. In 2013, they were the first to launch Mobile Money Transfer App in the UK.

This is a 6 month internship. Salary: £1,200 per month.

How can you expect to spend your day:

•Under the direction of the Fraud Manager, the successful candidate will gain an insight into day-to-day operational tasks associated with online fraud prevention and detection. This includes investigation of suspicious alerts or transactions, analysis of suspected fraudulent activity.
•Under the direction of the Revenue Assurance Manager, they will gain experience in the day-to-day operational task associated with monitoring and investigation of discrepancies related to supplier invoices.
•Supporting the Revenue Assurance Manager to perform key monitoring controls including accuracy of customer top-ups, accuracy of retail pricing and completeness of end-to-end revenues.
•Supporting the Revenue Assurance Manager with the collation of operational and executive level reporting for the Revenue Assurance and Fraud function.
•Supporting the delivery of clear process and control documentation for the RA and Fraud function.

The ideal intern’s personality and qualifications:

•This company is looking for a graduate with an analytical mind set with a strong attention to detail.
•Someone with a methodical and structured way of working is preferable.
•Strong problem solving skills – someone who embraces challenge and enjoys working through a problem to arrive at solution.
•They should have excellent data analysis and data manipulation skills, capable of using tools such as MS Excel, MS Access etc.
•Experience in programming (SQL) would be advantageous.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential along with the ability to interpret and present complex information to senior stakeholders.
•A strong interest in learning about the telecoms industry and willingness to support the team in its day-to-day tasks to assure and protect the company’s revenue and costs.
•Ideally a graduate with a degree in mathematics/sciences/computer science.
•Enthusiastic and proactive – someone who takes the initiative, bringing suggested solutions to problems without the need to be asked.
•Strong leadership qualities, determined and strong willed personality with the confidence and ability to influence more senior stakeholders.
•Thrives in a fast paced and changeable environment and comfortable dealing with ambiguity that comes with this.
•Able to work in a team in a diverse and multinational environment and converse with colleagues and peers.
•Capable of going above and beyond, with the ability to work in high performance, demanding environments.
