Maintenance Engineer - Control Systems
Location: Yorkshire
Salary: Up to £55k
Shift Pattern: Days Monday - Friday

My client is a local manufacturing company supplying building products for the industrial and retail sectors who require a Maintenance Engineer with a focus on manufacturing control systems.

Maintenance Engineer - Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with projects across the factories located in the defined region and providing technical support and development work, including design (electrical drawings / PLC programmes, Risk Assessments, etc...) & commissioning, as and when required to the maintenance teams.
  • Ensure factory downtime is minimised and improved through projects ensuring work is carried out with cost and quality in mind.
  • To promote and implement an Engineering Technical Specifications and Standards Procedures to ensure compliance with the Machinery Directive in force.
  • To provide a management and assessment of functional safety with audits for the factories, including support in planning and in design of safety circuit and safety logic programming against best practices.
  • To manage all aspect of mandatory testing in relation to electrical installation including fixed wire testing, PAT testing, HV transformers and switchgears.
  • To survey and control electrical drawings and PLC/SACDA backups
  • To advice the Company with regard to CE marking.

Maintenance Engineer - About You

The ideal candidate MUST come from the Manufacturing industry as a Maintenance Engineer. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Ideally degree Level or extensive and proven skills in Electronic and Automation
  • Ideally experience of working with brick and/or roof tile manufacturing machinery, or a heavy industrial environment.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Experience in electrical and control design and development.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes in environment/technology.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to contribute ideas and share information.
