Job Description

Due to our continued success, we are looking for an experienced individual to join our Surveillance Programme & Product Management Team.

The main emphasis of the position shall be the provision of technical expertise for FLIR Systems’ European manufactured Non ITAR Gimbal products. However, the incumbent will also be required to provide ad-hoc assistance within their expertise on other FLIR Systems products (ITAR, Land and Border Systems).

Detailed Description:
  • Oversight of the technical response to Customer technical enquiries and Requests For Quotations (RFQs)
  • Identification and scoping of customisation of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products to meet Customer requirements
  • Liaison with Engineering and Sales to identify and evaluate evolving needs for product features and enhancements
  • Maintain knowledge base in relation to competitors’ products, including pricing; features; performance and roadmap
  • Technical support to internal departments (e.g. Marketing, Sales, Service) to maximise product relevance and exposure to the target marketplace
  • Work with the Director of Products and Programmes to develop internal business cases to advocate investment strategies to maintain market dominance.
  • Liaison with FLIR Systems’ US and Swedish based design centres and European offices.
An ability to demonstrate experience of one or more of the following would be an advantage:
  • working knowledge of imaging/ISR/ISTAR/C2I technologies
  • knowledge of aircraft sensor electrical and/or mechanical integration or qualification
  • experience of design, integration or qualification of mechatronics and/or software/firmware
  • working within or closely or within a Product Management, Marketing or Sales environment;
  • fluency in a second European language
You should have an engineering qualification at Degree or HND level. It is essential that you have hands on experience of military, or aerospace/avionics equipment design, validation, service or installation support. You will have the ability to work under pressure to meet customer deadlines and prioritise work-load.

You may also be required to work on classified military programmes and will need to hold, or be eligible for security clearance.

As well as interpersonal awareness; you will have an excellent telephone manner and oral skills and be able to present yourself competently and credibly to senior client representatives. Working as part of a team is critical to our success. A full driver’s licence and a current passport is essential.

Some short duration, local and international travel is required; therefore, you should be a flexible individual and be able to demonstrate your energy and commitment to work.
