We are looking for a Credit Control Team Leader to join us in our Manchester office on a 12-month fixed term contract. Our Credit Control team lead a balancing act of delivering excellent customer service whilst finding suitable ways for our trade customers to clear their overdue accounts.

As a Team Leader with specialist legal debt collection knowledge, you will maintain credit control & pre-legal procedures for more than 12,000 active debtors. You will work closely with our third-party collection agency to ensure that they deliver a great service in line with our SLA’s and legal regulations. You will champion a culture of best practice and continuous improvement and will support the team to protect our revenue through effective negotiation and cash collection. You will do this through mentoring and training, enabling them to perform at their best. As an experienced credit controller, you will also be on hand to offer advice and handle any escalations.

To succeed in this role it is important that you have experience working in a Collections role in a business to business (B2B) environment. Our customers are varied so we are looking for someone that has experience working with businesses of different sizes and with different needs. You will also have a great knowledge of legislation laws relating to insolvency and distressed debt and you will ideally be CICM qualified. With a strong commercial focus, you will enjoy supporting the team in delivering a multimillion revenue stream and will be able to demonstrate where you have developed and delivered innovative collections strategies.

You will have strong analytical skills and will able to manipulate data using Excel with ease. Using these skills you will produce weekly and monthly KPI metrics that will ensure the team delivers an effortless service to our customers whilst maintaining maximum operational performance. You will be quality focused, will have great attention to detail and will be an excellent organizer and capable of not just meeting the recurring monthly deadlines, but inspiring your team to do the same.

You’ll be working with different teams across the business and will work very closely with our external debt collection agency so you will need to be a great relationship builder and influencer. You will love solving problems and will not be afraid to question the status quo. We are looking for someone that ideally has team management and coaching experience. Although direct line management experience is not essential, it is essential that you are passionate about people and are able to demonstrate where you have developed someone you work with.
