As we continue to grow, we are looking for an ambitious Junior Finance Manager to join our family run business. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the Company’s finances. In your varied role you will be supporting the Finance Manager with the day to day managing of the businesses finance function, across multiple departments falling under the 4 individual companies, identifying any areas for improvement within current systems and then discussing solutions with the Finance Manager for implementation. The ideal candidate will need a great eye for detail and be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Preparing departmental management accounts on a monthly basis. Presenting these to the Finance Manager with areas of variance identified and discussed. You will be responsible for the overseeing of the transactional data behind these management accounts, such as:-

a)Reconciling of bank current and credit card accounts

b)Posting month end journals for wages, work in progress, depreciation, prepayments, accruals, department cross charges

c)Maintaining fixed asset registers

·Producing weekly departmental reports around sales and staff hours results.

·Preparing supplier ledger payments on a weekly basis, including uploading of payments to our online banking platform from Sage accounts.

·Preparing VAT Returns for Finance Manager’s approval before submitting return and raising any payment as required.

·Ensuring on time and correct payment of PAYE/NI liabilities from information provided by our Payroll department.

·Preparing year end accounts and supporting documents for our external auditors and then taking responsibility for the coordinating of the annual audit.

This list is not exhaustive and role holders will be expected to carry out any other tasks required by the Management team to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the Company.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

E= Essential; D= Desirable

·Professional Accounting qualification, either demonstrable by experience or formally as AAT Level 4 or working towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA (E)

    Extensive experience of working within the Accounting industry (E)Previous line management experience (E)Excellent MS Office skills, with Accounts software experience (E)Excellent written/oral communication and listening skills (E)Excellent customer service skills (E)Strives to maintain accuracy at all times (E) Is able to use own initiative and has a positive approach and capability towards developing efficient ways of working (E)Ability to take a proactive approach, prioritise multiple tasks, work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure (E)A desire to fully participate in CGM life and be a positive role model (E)Experience of working in an owner-managed SME (D)Experience of working in a multiple profit centre business (D)
