About the role

Our desktop engineers provides our customers with the installation and upgrade of any IT equipment, mainly limited to desktop PC / laptop and peripheral tasks with some domain work. You`ll be responsible for minimising downtime during onsite visits, providing timely reports that clearly indicate where problems have arisen and assist our customers with their resolution as quickly as possible. We`ll expect you to complete any site visit in a professional and efficient manner providing an overall excellent customer experience.

This role will be a contract role field based in East Midlands/Derbyshire lasting roughly 3 months.

Our team

As our desktop engineer you`ll be working alongside our network consultants and senior network consultants, who will be there to offer guidance and support. You`ll be reporting in to the regional manager and will be working closely with our customers to resolve on site issues.

Who you`ll be

We want to make sure you are set for success, this isn`t all about your skills and that is why we would love to talk to you even if perhaps you don`t fit all of the below;
  • good general IT experience essential including knowledge of PC and peripheral architecture
  • knowledge of current and past Microsoft Workstation operating systems and common networking techniques
  • Microsoft server, domain knowledge - TCP/IP, active directory
  • Knowledge of efficient data/file transfers
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • strong customer skills and focus
  • full UK driving licence
  • must be enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) cleared.
