About the role

As our Senior developer, you`ll be a key member of the development team working on our new and existing products. You will be involved in unique projects within the healthcare industry applying your experience and knowledge in technologies such as SQL Server and ASP.NET to develop high quality software. You`ll will be involved in a programme of work known as "innovation incubators" working to identify new ways to improve our software.

Day to day, you`ll be contributing to the overall software development lifecycle, right from reviewing user stories and specifications through to the development assuring quality through the use of automated unit testing. As a senior member of the team, you`ll also use your skills and expertise to provide support and assistance to other colleagues, making sure they adhere to development practices.

This role is based in Bolton but may require travel to other sites.

Our team

In our Bolton office you`ll work as part of our development team. You`ll work closely with product owners, developers, testers and scrum masters, solution architects, security, clinical safety and database teams. We are a supportive team who help each other when it`s needed and who enjoy working in a positive and encouraging atmosphere.

Who you are

We want to make sure you`re set for success so the key skills we are looking for in the role are below;
  • a track record of working in software development following the agile development process.
  • extensive experience of an object orientated programming language, ideally C# and VB.NET.
  • experience of using web technologies including but not limited to Microsoft ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
  • experience of working with database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server.
  • any experience of an ORM such as nHibernate would be great.
  • excellent understanding of modern software engineering practices.
  • superb communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • great problem solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
