An excitingopportunity has arisen for an IT Senior Specialist to join the ITDepartment at our town centre offices. Our IT team provides support and advice across the council in order toimprove performance and support in delivering the councils digitalambitions, whilst enabling council functions to operate moreefficiently. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our digital networkand infrastructure as well as undertaking specific projects as required.You will need to ensure that the council network and infrastructure ismaintained and supported, and will be responsible for maintaining a fullinventory of software and hardware currently held. This role will ensurethat relevant lifecycles of software and hardware are adhered to,ensuring compliance and risk management and ensuring adherence to datamanagement and retention policies. This role will be responsible for allocating and managing workload forother members of the IT Specialist team, ensuring compliance with andimplementation of relevant IT policies and processes, as well asproviding complex IT advice to internal customers. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrateexperience of managing and developing staff as well as having extensiveexperience in all aspects of network and infrastructure management,including procurement, implementation and relevant support. You will beable to demonstrate experience in the management of a computer networkenvironment and have good working knowledge of security requirementsneeded to meet relevant compliance standards; this aspect will besupported by our IT Security Specialist. You will have good knowledge of network, hardware and systemarchitecture technical expertise, including virtualisation, storage,LAN/WAN connectivity and operating systems. Expertise in telephonysystems and in the management of personal hardware (for instance,laptops and mobile phones) is also required.
