Our Insight specialists at Auto Trader are a bright bunch! They take volumes of data and analyze it to provide greater insight into our customers. They love thinking creatively and using insights to uncover new and innovative ways of making our digital marketing even better at reaching the right audience at the right time, with the right message. It’s our aim to be the most admired digital company in the UK so we continually review and improve our digital marketing and are in the process of bringing all of this capability in-house.

In this role, you can expect to work closely with our digital marketing team to develop effective cross-channel optimization strategies, including analyzing PPC, Display, Social Media and SEO data.

We are looking for someone with proven experience analyzing digital marketing data, with knowledge of marketing analytics tracking set up including UTM parameters.

You will have a strong understanding of Google Analytics and experience with tools like SQL and Big Query. Although not essential, it would be great if you had knowledge of programming languages like R and Python.

You will be able to demonstrate experience of developing performance dashboards to help stakeholders understand channel performance which may include experience in using APIs like Adwords. As well as a basic understanding of the marketing stack, you will know how the different components fit together and why data may differ between systems.

In addition, you will have experience with tag management, competitive analysis to identify new growth opportunities, demonstrable skills working with large datasets and databases and the ability to identify the relevant digital metrics for campaigns.

However, it’s not just about the technical skills! You will demonstrate strong commercial awareness and will have a curious approach allowing you to have a great understanding of our products and customers. You’ll also be working with non-technical teams so it’s key that you’re able to communicate data in a clear and simple way that meets the audience’s need.
