Senior Strategic ICT Procurement Manager

Fixed Term Contract – 2 Years Full time (36 hours)

Salary: £60,000 – £67,000

About the role

Working within our resources directorate, you will be supporting the NMC’s journey to becoming a leading and dynamic regulator, in which we are highly reliant on IT in order for us to reach our goal. You will work to support the implementation of our IT strategy, focussing on key strategic supplier arrangements that are critical for a successful delivery of our mission. You will need to act as the procurement specialist and be able to maintain strategic oversight of supplier activity and developments within the market to help influence internal decision making in line with our strategy.

Working closely with all internal stakeholders you will be required to provide up to date expertise to our Assistant Directors, and management when undertaking any procurement activities, you will be responsible for contract and supplier relationship management on all IT based contracts.

Skills and experience required

  • Full member of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
  • Substantial amount of experience of working within procurement with a focus on IT.
  • A track record of establishing high quality effective working relationships.
  • A high level of commercial awareness and an understanding of contracts.
  • Strong technical knowledge of strategic souring and IT Category management.
  • Able to formulate effective category and sourcing strategies.
