We are looking to recruit either an experienced Multi-Skilled Mechanical Craftsperson OR Welder/Pipefitter to work for our well established, award winning client based in Cramlington. The package is from £33,000 to £40,000 depending on shifts (There are currently options to word either a day shift or on a shift pattern).

Reporting to the Area Engineer, you will be working closely with the production and manufacturing functions and teams ensuring an effective maintenance service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance work on site and providing first hand technical diagnosis and correction of maintenance problems to maintain the assets and site in a safe and efficient operational condition.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform assigned SAP transactions in an accurate and timely manner
• Mechanical repairs, modifications, plant upgrades and installation.
• Maintenance on Safety Instrumented Systems.
• Problem solving and diagnostic checks on mechanical and process equipment
• Recommending changes and improvements to the operational systems.
• Electrical isolations and restorations of medium and low voltage electrical equipment.
• Work outside core skill - multi-skilling.
• Acceptance and handback of PTWs.
• Carry out work in compliance with cGMP standards.
• Requisition and collect stores materials as required.
• Conduct inspections and carry out preventative maintenance activity.
• Develop maintenance procedures.
• Train apprentices, craftsmen and operators as required.
• Comply with all HSE requirements including safety policies and procedures
• Participate in HSE Audits

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
• Recognised craft apprenticeship in core discipline
• Ideally qualification minimum of ONC or equivalent
• Preferred experience in chemical industry
• Good diagnostic skills
• Must have a working knowledge of DSEAR, and ATEX.
• Aware of maintenance requirements of Safety Instrumented Systems
• Welding / Pipefitting experience (Carbon Steel & Stainless Steel) would be advantageous but not essential
