Our client a national waste to energy company is currently looking for a Power Plant Site Manager to join their team based in Nottingham.

You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation and maintenance of a new-build Green Energy Power Plant comprising of 7MWe Steam Turbine Unit, biomass Boiler and all the auxiliary and ancillary plant used to support the burning of waste wood fuel and production of power & heat.

As the Site Manager you will be in operational control of all installed plant, personnel and maintenance activities within the renewable biomass power plant. You will be expected to have a flexible approach to work with a can do attitude; working closely with the Contract Manager, where you will monitor the safe efficient operation of the newly constructed plant, maximising performance and looking to continually improve site systems.

As the Site Manager you will be able to demonstrate a wide experience in the operation & maintenance of a large boiler plant, electricity generators, flue gas treatment equipment and their associated auxiliary systems, where you will be responsible for the Safety and the Environmental performance of the plant, identification of required operation consumables and operations shift planning & monitoring. You will assist the contract manager for budgetary control, ROCs/EUETS reporting.

You will be required to manager the stock control of site consumables & spares, site waste management and ensure logs and routines are carried out correctly, responsibilities such as plant parameters monitoring, managing housekeeping, management of site permit to work system, identification and purchase of essential spares and CEMs gases supervision will fall under your Site Manager role.

To enable you to carry out this role you will be an Apprentice trained Engineer (preferred Electrical with strong Mechanical knowledge) qualified to at least BTEC National Certificate or City and Guilds in Engineering or HNC/ HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. You will be a practical Engineer with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory/management role within a process industry, gained in a Chemical, Waste Incineration or Power Generation environment, ideally able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the principles of Steam/Electricity generating plant and have special operational duties, such as remote switching on the 11kV generation system.

You will have a sound understanding of process flow and control loop, Pressure System Regulations and working knowledge of the wood recycling industry. You will have knowledge of Environmental Permits and associated reporting regime and knowledge of current H&S issues and safe working systems such as PFW.

In return the company will offer a salary of £42,000 plus excellent company benefits
