SEMH (EBD) Teaching Assistant
Empowering Learning currently has a fantastic opportunity available for a confident, experienced Teaching Assistant.
One of our mainstream primary schools in South Manchester are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work with a number of SEN pupils throughout Key Stage 2.
Prior experience of supporting pupils with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties is essential. If you have the patience and empathy to help vulnerable children progress in their education, then this is the perfect Teaching Assistant job for you. For the successful Teaching Assistant, this full-time role will commence immediately until the end of the academic year with the potential to extend further.
The successful Teaching Assistant will be expected to support Pupils with SEMH (EBD). You will work closely with class teachers to implement EHC and to liaise with the school SENCO on the pupil's development. You will need to have broad experience of working with similar pupils in a mainstream education setting and have the compassion to support and nurture each pupil.
To be considered for this Teaching Assistant post you will:
- Have a minimum of 6 months referenceable experience of supporting SEN pupils in the last 2 years
- Level 3 Qualification desirable but not essential- Have an ability to work as part of a team coordinating the care of a pupil (including class teacher; parents; school
- SENCO; members of support agencies)
Have the ability to implement and contribute to EHC's
Successful appointment will be dependent on obtaining an Enhanced DBS Check..
