We are looking for a Management Accountant to join Helen & Douglas House on a full time basis.
Helen & Douglas House cares for terminally ill children, young adults and their families through exceptional hospice care. We provide medical, emotional and practical support, helping families deal with the implications of living with a child who will die prematurely, so they can make the most of their time together. As a charity we rely almost entirely on donations to support our families.
The Finance Team is being strengthened with the recruitment of a Management Accountant. The post-holder will be a key member of a small but busy finance team and be responsible for the production of monthly management accounts. The post holder will be an excellent communicator, able to multi task, be approachable with exceptional attention to detail.
The position requires experience in managing the operation of a finance system and the accuracy and integrity of the accounting, cash, asset and payroll systems. The post holder will work closely with the Director of Finance and will have experience of effectively managing, developing and motivating individuals.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
CCAB qualified or at final exam stage with last exam having taken place within last 18 months.
Experience of managing the operation of an IT finance system.
Highly developed IT skills in Excel (ie, able to design and manipulate spreadsheets using complex formulae, linking multiple spreadsheets/worksheets, pivot tables, v look up tables, macros) with a high degree of accuracy.
Excellent written and oral communication skills to support non-financial managers to interpret their budgets and manage more effectively.
