Brooksby Melton College has an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Horticulture to join the team based in Brooksby on a part time permanent contract. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £13,548.60 - £17,175.60 per annum dependant on experience and qualifications (Based on Full time equivalent £22,282 - £28,240).

The Lecturer in Horticulture role

We are looking to recruit an individual with prior teaching experience or experience of working within the horticulture industry, who is looking for a new opportunity to inspire the next generation of horticulturists.

As our Lecturer in Horticulture you will contribute to the planning, delivery, assessment and evaluation of courses within our Landbased Industries team.

Our Ideal Lecturer in Horticulture

An amenity, decorative and landscape background would be a strong advantage. It is preferable that a level 5 qualification in the relevant subject area is held by applicants.

You should have a proven track record of a high standard of work and industry experience with a passion to inspire in teaching those interested in horticulture; have the ability to apply IT in the workplace and be a self-motivated, enthusiastic team member.

A successful candidate who doesn't hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) will be appointed to a 'Trainee Lecturer' role. The salary attached to this role will be £22,282 - £24,351 per annum,(pro rata) depending on qualifications and experience. The candidate will be required to undertake, and be supported through, relevant teaching and vocational qualifications, and on achievement of QTS will be promoted to the qualified Lecturer role.
