Python Developer - Python, Amazon Web Service, AWS, and Cloud based storage. Python scripting from scratch on new projects and enhancement of existing Python systems.

Our worldwide music sector client is currently looking for a Python developer with 3-4+ years' experience with Python and (ideally) Amazon Web Services, AWS, or experience of any other Cloud platforms. With their headquarters in Central London, our client utilises specialist technology and techniques including Big Data analysis (Big Data experience is NOT required to be considered for this role) and Internet based data research.

Python provides the backbone of some key tools, including sophisticated web crawlers/web scraping tools and our client now seeks an additional team member specifically with 3-4+ years strong Python scripting experience, but is flexible on this as long as it is recent and sufficient to work on fairly complex Python scripting tasks. Good knowledge of AWS or any other Cloud experience is required.

A basic knowledge of web-based crawling technologies and Cloud-based infrastructure would be ideal. Based at the London headquarters, the successful candidate will:

  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of programming languages such as Python and good knowledge of Amazon Web services, AWS, or any other Cloud platforms
  • Have experience of crawling websites for information and legal considerations, with respect to web crawling, around the use of such technologies to do this.

Responsibilities will include scripting new crawlers (Python, etc.) and maintaining existing crawlers, as well as assisting with the growth and maintenance of the cloud infrastructure used to support such crawlers. You will also work with colleagues within the IT department when needed (these colleagues dealing with Big Data and other related systems and technology). Good knowledge of AWS or any other Cloud experience is required.

The role requires a highly focused and organised individual who will remain calm under pressure. The applicant must have good Python skills and be an excellent communicator who is self-driven, ambitious and happy to work as part of a team. Good knowledge of AWS or any other Cloud experience is required.
